Parent and Family Programs will host its Winter Family Weekend from Friday, Jan. 31, through Sunday, Feb. 2, with a variety of events that provide opportunities for families to visit their students and connect with the Duck community.
Winter Family Weekend officially kicks off with the Duck Family Welcome on Friday before participants can take in the Career Center Session and meet the director of the Career Center and explore majors and career opportunities. Parent and Family Programs staff members will also take pre-registered participants on a culinary tour of Eugene that evening and the Whiteaker Arts District will host the Last Friday ArtWalk in the Whiteaker Arts District.
On Saturday, CommUniversity will host a Living off Campus Workshop to help families navigate the housing search and regulations in the city of Eugene. The Parent and Family Association will host a pregame tailgate party at the Ford Alumni Center before the men’s basketball team takes on USC. Tickets to the game may be purchased atwww.goducks.com.
President Michael Gottfredson will visit with parents and family members at the Parent and Family Association brunch on Sunday. Walk-ins are welcome and tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for students and children. Participants can conclude the weekend by taking in the Tardis Ensemble or the UO Emerging Artist Series on Sunday afternoon.
Campus tours are also available on Thursday and Friday at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., or on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The 90-minute walking tours are conducted by the UO student ambassadors and acquaint visitors with the main campus.
