Music lovers on and off campus will have a chance to hear the award-winning UO Chamber Choir in a special performance May 14 before the group heads to Germany to appear in a prestigious international competition.
The UO Chamber Choir, the most select ensemble in the university’s seven-choir choral arts program, is one of just 10 choirs from around the world selected for the 2015 Marktoberdorf International Chamber Choir Competition May 22–27. The choir will compete in two rounds of competition on successive days; the results of the competition will be announced Tuesday, May 26.
The Chamber Choir is no stranger to success, and has won at two previous competitions in Europe. The UO’s choral Ducks are hoping to add a third win to their portfolio.
Tickets for the Thursday, May 14, performance in Beall Concert Hall in the Frohnmayer Music Building are $7 general or $5 for students and seniors and are available at the door or in advance from the UO Ticket Office at McArthur Court (EMU South), 541-346-4363 or tickets.uoregon.edu.
