Construction has started on renovations to the University Health Center, Counseling Center and Testing Center, which will add about 22,000 square feet to the existing building through a three-story expansion to the north side of the building.
The renovations also feature an expanded reception and waiting area, a new acute care clinic and new facilities for services.
“The expansion and renovation project will provide greatly needed and enhanced spaces for serving students,” said Michael Griffel, assistant vice president for student services and enrollment management and interim executive director of the University Health Center. “Students will benefit a great deal from this project.”
Construction is estimated to finish by January 2020, with some areas of the new building open for patient use in fall 2019. The building will remain open during construction, but some parts may see service interruptions in the summer of 2019.
