The University of Oregon Board of Trustees will convene for its next quarterly meeting Dec. 4-5 in the Lee Barlow Giustina Ballroom of the Ford Alumni Center on the Eugene campus.

Trustees will receive the quarterly financial and treasury reports, annual treasury report, external audit report and UO Foundation annual report. In addition, trustees will discuss governance policy, audit transition, the annual student enrollment report, artificial intelligence in the classroom, and a new education specialist degree in the College of Education.  

The December meeting will highlight UO’s College of Education and its work to create positive change with the goal of a more equitable, educated and healthy future. Board members will hear from presenters about recent initiatives and developments in the college. 

Engaging with a broad range of campus communities will be at the center of the upcoming Board of Trustees meeting, starting with a presentation on the Home Flight Scholars Program, a UO initiative that supports the long-term success of Native American students residing in Oregon. The presentation will be followed by a visit to the Many Nations Longhouse, where trustees will meet with Native American students and community members. 

Members of the board also will meet and congratulate the UO’s new Rhodes Scholar, Nayantara Aurora, the first Duck to receive the award in 15 years, as well as the two finalists.
