Visit by noted speaker is a chance to engage on race, equity

The UO community will have an opportunity to talk about race, identity, privilege and other important campus issues when noted speaker the Rev. Dr. Jamie Washington visits campus Tuesday, Nov. 17.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. in Room 156 Straub Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Washington is a nationally and internationally known writer, speaker, coach, consultant, teacher and trainer. He will talk on the importance of diversity on campus and in the workplace.

The talk was planned months ago but is especially timely in light of issues of race and equity that have arisen at the University of Missouri, Yale University and on other campuses and cities. Washington will discuss “Why Diversity is Everyone’s Business.”
