The University of Oregon School of Music and Dance will host participatory Balkan folk dance, as well as a public master class with celebrated violinist Stefan Jackiw. The school will also host the opening event of Eugene’s annual Irish Cultural Festival with a traditional Irish music concert by international artists the Paperboys, and will welcome Adam Unsworth, a hornist from the University of Michigan, for a concert and master class.

Tom had a vision of a band that would fuse Irish jigs and reels with Mexican Son Jarocho, Country, Bluegrass, Ska, Soca, and West African highlife. Since then the band has created eight albums, countless tours of North America and Europe, TV and movie appearances, film scores, and several music honors including Canada's JUNO Award. For their Eugene appearance, selected members of the band will focus on their strong backgrounds in Traditional Irish music.

Prior to his joining the faculty at Michigan, he spent nine years as a member of the horn section of The Philadelphia Orchestra and three years in the Detroit Symphony. Adam has appeared as a recitalist and clinician at many universities throughout the United States, and has performed repeated solo and chamber concerts at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall. He is the leader of his own jazz group, the Adam Unsworth Ensemble, which recorded the critically acclaimed CD, Excerpt This! and completed a second recording with this group, entitled Next Step. Adam also recorded a CD of the chamber music of Swiss-American composer Daniel Schnyder.
