The University of Oregon Psychology Clinic is taking new adult clients for appointments starting in January and employees are welcome to sign up now for an advance phone screening.
The clinic is located in Straub Hall on the Eugene campus making it handy to visit during the workday.
The individual therapy it provides addresses a variety of common mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, stress and sleep difficulties. Treatment begins with a thorough intake to understand the patient and their goals, which contributes to the development of treatment plans tailored to fit individual needs.
This type of evidence-based treatment is often difficult to find and is frequently unaffordable. One of the clinic’s guiding principles is to increase access to evidence-based mental health services by reducing financial barriers. Although the clinic does not accept insurance, fees are determined using a sliding scale based on income with treatment sessions starting at $10.
Additionally, it is a primary training site for graduate students in clinical psychology in the Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences. All trainees are supervised by licensed psychologists on the UO faculty to ensure the provision of high-quality mental health care.
“The UO Psychology Clinic is conveniently located on campus and offers evidence-based services for a variety of common mental health concerns at low cost. Faculty and students are welcome to consider this option for themselves, their children, or other family members,” said Associate Clinic Director Michelle Fenesy, PhD. “Additionally, they can share information about our clinic with others they know in the Eugene/Springfield community who may be seeking mental health services.”
