“During his eight years at the University of Oregon, Jim has left a lasting mark on our enrollment growth and led many key efforts for the UO,” said Roger Thompson, vice president for Student Services and Enrollment Management. “I want to thank Jim for all he has done to help move the university’s strategic admissions goals to a new level and create a foundation for our teams to continue to do exceptional work in the years to come.”
Under Rawlins’ leadership, the UO joined the Common App, which allows prospective students to apply to the university through a single application used by other institutions across the county. He worked to promote a more equitable admission process, including the UO becoming one of the first test-optional schools in the country.
Rawlins will supervise the Office of Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Enrollment Analytics, Enrollment Management Technology Services, Creative Services and a few other support areas for the Enrollment Management division at UC San Diego.
His last day at the UO is Jan. 28. The university will launch a national search for his replacement and announce an interim leadership transition plan and search committee in the coming days.
