UO board of trustees to meet March 16-17 in Eugene

The Board of Trustees of the University of Oregon will meet for its next quarterly meeting March 16-17 at the Ford Alumni Center on the Eugene campus.

On Monday morning, the Finance and Facilities Committee will give its quarterly finance report, a treasury report and Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration Jamie Moffitt will give an update on the Oregon Public University Retirement Plan.

Then the Executive, Audit and Governance Committee will give its quarterly internal audit update.

After an executive session on collective bargaining, the full board meeting will commence at 1 p.m. with standing reports from President Karl Scholz, Provost Christopher P. Long, University Senate President Dyana Mason, Associated Students of the University of Oregon President Prissila Moreno and board chair Steve Holwerda. The board will also hold a preliminary discussion regarding selection of board officers and review a needs assessment for upcoming expected board vacancies.

Trustee Elisa Hornecker will provide a report from the Academic and Student Affairs Committee and the board will hear a report from campus-based trustees and discuss an amendment to the policy on retention and delegation of authority regarding naming rights. Trustees will also hold the first of two discussions on President Scholz’s recommendations on tuition and mandatory fees for the 2026-27 school year.

Day One will end with Vice President for Student Life Angela Chong giving an update from the Division of Student Life.

Tuesday will begin with public comment, including an opportunity for members of the university community to provide recommendations for the ideal characteristics of future trustees. This will be followed by a vote on the proposed delegation of authority amendment and a second discussion and vote on recommendations from President Scholz regarding tuition and mandatory fees for the 2026-27 school year.

Day Two will conclude with a presentation on state legislative updates from Executive Director of Government and Community Relations Trent Lutz.

The meeting’s agenda and materials will be available when posted in the upcoming meetings section of the board website. Meetings will begin at 9 a.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday, and public comment is scheduled for the second day. Anyone wishing to provide recommendations may also submit written recommendations to the board office by emailing them to trustees@uoregon.edu.
