A third campus forum to discuss the issue of arming campus police officers will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, in the Knight Library Browsing Room. Two previous forums were Feb. 11 and Feb. 26.
The fifth of five open, small-group meetings with interim UOPD Chief Carolyn McDermed will be on Tuesday, March 5, from noon to 1 p.m., in the EMU Walnut Room.

"Silent Spaces," an exhibition of photographs by Eugene artist Jon Meyers that capture scenes of the Four Corners area of the United States, opens Wednesday, March 6, at the University of Oregon's Museum of Natural and Cultural History.
The exhibition features 30 large-format photographs of Hovenweep National Monument and Chaco Canyon National Park in the Four Corners region of the American Southwest. Four Corners is where the borders of southwestern Colorado, northwestern New Mexico, northeastern Arizona and southeastern Utah come together.
The University of Oregon and the Eugene Sakya Center (Nyen-Gyud Samten Choeling for Tibetan Buddhist Studies) will be welcoming His Holiness Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet, to the University of Oregon campus for a public lecture on Friday, May 10 at 1:30 p.m.

After two months of classes and a full slate of activities, it became official on Friday: The new Allen Hall is open.
Allen Hall – home to the UO's School of Journalism and Communication – got its grand opening on what was the warmest day of 2013, to date. Ribbon was cut and guests were guided through the renovated and expanded building by student ambassadors from the SOJC.
The School of Journalism and Communication will celebrate the grand opening of the renovated Allen Hall at 1 p.m.
The new hall includes 18,000 additional square feet, which will include amenities such as a hearth, a student gallery, and bridge areas to allow opportunities for student collaboration. The third floor will house a digital commons, equipped with projection screens and breakout rooms.
