Current and former UO students from tribes throughout Oregon are showing their artwork in the 2013 Native American Art Show, on display through the month of October at the Many Nations Longhouse, 1630 Columbia St.
A public reception to meet the artists will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
In an evening vote on Tuesday, members of United Academics, the union representing more than 1,800 UO faculty members, ratified the first faculty collective bargaining contract agreement with the university. The contract, effective immediately, reflects a shared commitment to excellence and recognizes and rewards faculty.

All University of Oregon faculty and staff qualify for discounted meals at University Housing dining facilities through the new Ducks Dine On program. Anyone with a UO ID card will be able to purchase a meal plan that is valid at all nine dining venues.
Four package options are available, ranging from a 10-meal plan for $65 to a 100-meal plan for $600. The larger the meal plan, the greater the discount. Employees who purchase the 100-meal plan will also receive a “Golden Mug” that allows unlimited refills of any soda, tea or brewed coffee.
The season opener of the Schnitzer Cinema at The University of Oregon will be two rarely screened Andy Warhol films – “The Velvet Underground in Boston” and “Bufferin” – at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Warhol, who lived from 1928 to 1987, is considered one of the 20th century’s major visual artists. He also made hundreds of films.
The University of Oregon Police Department commissioned its three newest hires on Monday, Oct. 7 – the department's first line police officers.
Allison Hart, John Loos, and Steven Barrett are first-time police officers, hired after a rigorous series of tests, interviews, background checks, and psychological and medical screenings over the last four-and-a-half months. Their commissioning, or swearing-in, with UOPD marks the official start of their police careers and their service with the UO.
