“Take Back the Night” demands end to sexual violence
An historic event returns to Eugene April 25 with the 34th annual Take Back the Night 2013, a free, public event seeking an end to sexual violence in the community.
Presented by the ASUO Women’s Center and Sexual Assault Support Services of Lane County, the event incorporates three parts to support those who have survived sexual violence: the Rally, March, and Speak Out.
Anthony Hornof accepts program director position at NSF
Anthony Hornof, an associate professor in Computer and Information Science, has been selected for a supervisory position with the National Science Foundation.
Hornof will serve as a program director in NSF's Division of Information and Intelligent Systems. Core programs include human-centered computing, information integration and informatics, and robust intelligence.

McKinney hired as OUS assistant vice chancellor for industry partnerships
Laura McKinney has been hired as the Oregon University System's assistant vice chancellor for industry partnerships and executive director of the Engineering and Technology Industry Council (ETIC), marking an expansion by OUS in its outreach and collaborations with business and industry.
McKinney is the former president and CEO of Galois, Inc., in Portland. She will begin at the OUS on April 22.
